Tom Judson brings his show to the Big Apple!
Tom Judson brings his show to the Big Apple!

There’s no stopping the multi-faceted and widely talented Tom Judson once he gets started. Ever since he took to the stage with his incredibly popular one-man wonder of a music spectacle "Canned Ham," the ever-ready sensation proved to everyone that he is more than a pair of bulging biceps, with dapper dimples and a set of tight glutes. He’s a hell of a package...and this man can sing too! After performing a successful run with his latest musical menagerie, he’s decidedly bringing that show to the Big Apple.

This is the best way to catch Judson - with nothing but a piano between him and the audience. It doesn’t get any hotter than all that jazz. The Tom Judson Show will be making its much anticipated New York City stop at the famed Metropolitan Room in the heart of the Flatiron District on Wednesday, February 1. "I’ve been performing versions of this show since last spring," Judson told us, "and I’m excited about doing the show in town at last."

For those among the uninitiated, who perhaps are only familiar with Judson’s other naked ambition, this is Tom Judson as he’d like everyone to see him - as a singer and song man, in his best light center stage of the cabaret. "Since I have a huge, eclectic knowledge of American popular music I’ve chosen mostly lesser-known songs by well-known composers," Judson revealed about the evening’s setlist, and since he’s feeling in the mood with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, "There will be a few more songs about love in this edition of the show."

He promises several other surprises as well! Judson did share that a very good friend of his, also known for his own night-crawling across the cabaret, could be dropping by to perform alongside the crooner on a particular duet. In any event there will be much to keep everyone entertained and their toes tapping. "There’s a ’guess who wrote that song’ mini-medley that’s especially fun to perform."

Interestingly enough, with all the years that Judson has been performing, this is the first time he’ll be singing in front of a crowd in New York City. "Yes...definitely doing the show in New York is going to be a bit nerve-wracking," he expects. "A good percentage of the audience will themselves be performers, so expectations should be higher." But he’s confident in his material and ready to bring down the house. "I imagine I’ll feel mighty exposed...and for me, that’s saying a lot.

Join the festive frolic when The Tom Judson Show debuts at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street on Wednesday, February 1 @ 9:30pm. For tickets visit www.metropolitanroom.com.
